The Full Story
A legacy of expertise, reliability, and engineered uptime.
CoreUptime Power Systems was founded on a simple but powerful belief: critical power deserves better. For decades, the two founding partners worked separately in the generator and electrical power industries—each building a reputation for uncompromising quality, deep technical knowledge, and dependable service. But it wasn’t until 2024 that the idea for CoreUptime Power Systems began to take shape.
Early Foundations
Our story starts with two parallel careers that eventually converged.
One founder spent 15 years working across the generator, switchgear, ATS, and controls world—serving as a trusted resource for electrical contractors, industrial facilities, hospitals, and OEMs. His early years were shaped by field service work, troubleshooting complex ATS logic issues, commissioning equipment, and leading large-scale upgrades. Over time, he became recognized for his deep understanding of UL standards, generator communications, control sequencing, and paralleling systems—expertise that is rare and often difficult to find in the industry.
The other founder built his career over 28 years in heavy generator service, mechanical systems, fuel systems, and emergency power reliability. Starting at the bottom and working his way up, he became the “go-to” technician for difficult engine problems, precision PMs, and emergency response. He later expanded into fuel polishing and remediation, becoming one of the most experienced specialists in the region for fuel quality restoration and long-term tank health—an increasingly critical need for backup power systems.
For nearly three decades, the two founders lived parallel professional lives—one focusing on the deep electrical and controls side of emergency power, the other mastering the mechanical, fuel, and reliability side. Though they worked for different companies and in different markets, they shared a common experience:
Most companies did one side well—few could do both.
The Shift: Identifying a Critical Gap
As the Carolinas experienced rapid growth—new data centers, manufacturing expansions, industrial development—the need for integrated power system expertise became urgent. Facilities needed more than basic generator PMs.
They needed partners who could:
-
Troubleshoot complex generator & ATS problems
-
Perform controls upgrades on aging systems
-
Restore fuel quality to keep large engines reliable
-
Provide engineering-level insight into system design
-
Respond quickly without the corporate delays of large OEMs
-
Handle both the mechanical and electrical sides of critical power
For years, both founders saw customers frustrated with fragmented service:
-
One company for PMs
-
Another for ATS work
-
Another for controls
-
Another for fuel
This fragmentation created risk for facilities that depend on uptime. And in many cases, it pushed costs higher while lowering the quality of service.
The idea for a unified, expert-driven company began forming.
The Founding of CoreUptime Power Systems
In 2025, after years of discussing the gaps in the market, the founders decided to combine their expertise and create a company built differently from traditional generator service providers.
Their vision was clear:
A company that delivers both mechanical reliability and intelligent controls expertise—under one roof, with one standard of excellence.
CoreUptime Power Systems was built to fill that exact need.
We combine:
-
15 years of advanced ATS & controls experience
-
28 years of field-proven mechanical and fuel expertise
-
A shared passion for uptime, precision, and honest service
-
The flexibility and responsiveness of a privately-led company
-
The professionalism and technical rigor of a large OEM
From the beginning, CoreUptime was designed to provide a full lifecycle of critical power services:
-
Generator PMs
-
Mechanical repairs & troubleshooting
-
ATS service
-
Controls upgrades
-
Fuel polishing
-
Load bank testing
-
Emergency response
-
Critical facility support
CoreUptime delivers all of this with a deep understanding of how these systems interact—electrically, mechanically, and operationally.
Growth, Vision, and the Road Ahead
CoreUptime Power Systems is headquartered between Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina, serving customers across the Piedmont region and beyond—a region where one founder began his early career and recognized a massive underserved demand for mid-sized, independent critical power service providers.
Our long-term vision is clear:
To become the most trusted critical power partner in the Carolinas.
Not by being the biggest, but by being the most skilled, the most responsive, and the most reliable.
The founders believe the future of the industry is moving toward:
-
Data center expansion
-
Modernized ATS controls
-
Generator retrofits instead of replacements
-
Advanced fuel management
-
Remote monitoring
-
Highly technical service teams
CoreUptime is being built intentionally to lead in those categories.
